Isla Contoy

North of Isla Mujeres, Isla Contoy is a protected national park — a pristine, car-free island sanctuary that few travelers ever reach.

As one of Mexico’s most important seabird nesting grounds, Contoy limits daily visitors, so its beaches and reef stay wonderfully untouched.

Expect powder-white sand, abundant wildlife, and snorkeling on the nearby Ixlaché reef — a rare glimpse of the Caribbean as it once was.
